System maintenance windows


Like all systems, eventually a level of maintenance is necessary - this could be to replace components that are at risk of failing or have failed, deploy new software upgrades that could deliver new features, or to address security issues. While the overall management of Oracle Cloud is not in the scope of this book, it can impact and potentially create the perception of operational issues, so we do need to acknowledge it. Today, Oracle has identified set times each month where it may run routine maintenance. What (if any) maintenance occurs will be notified to the administrator of the service being used by e-mail. The e-mail typically will look something like as follows:
