Summary


In this chapter, we learned the basics of SNS and its supported protocols, how to create a topics, subscribe to a topics, and publish messages to a topic using the AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, AWS SDK – Java, and AWS CloudFormation. Amazon SNS can be integrated with various AWS services, such as CloudWatch to send notifications about alarms, auto scaling groups to send notifications when any event occurs on EC2 instances, Elastic Beanstalk, and so on.

In the next chapter, we will learn about monitoring AWS resources, application performance, health checks, and more using the Amazon CloudWatch service. This is the most important part of the application because by using this service, we can ensure our application is up and running properly.
