Overview of this book

Setting up system rules


Out of the box, Service-Now provides data lookup and assignment rules to automatically assign a task to users or groups.

Getting ready

To step through this recipe, you should have an active Service-Now instance, valid credentials, and an admin role.

How to do it...

  1. Open any standard web browser.
  2. Log in to the Service-Now instance with the credentials.
  3. Type system policy in the search box and service-now will search system policy application, and under the rule section you can find all related module such as Data lookup Definitions, Assignment Lookup Rules, Assignment, and so on:

  1. To assign values in the assigned to or assignment group fields, you can use assignment look up:
