Creating an e-mail notification script


On many occasions, the required information which is stored in another table or related tables, and in such cases, an e-mail notification script is recommended to be used to fetch relevant information from related tables, such as getting the requester's e-mail address which is in user table of Service-Now.

Getting ready

To step through this recipe, you should have an active Service-Now instance, valid credentials, and the admin role.

How to do it…

  1. Open any standard web browser and type the instance Web address.
  2. Log in to the Service-Now instance using your credentials.
  3. On the left-hand side in the search box, type Notification Email Scripts, and Service-Now will search out the module for you as follows:
