Overview of this book

Working with the report range


The report range feature is applied to only those dates which are very helpful in filtering the reports. On multiple occasions, clients request for a dashboard where they want to see first half (all incident which were create in last 4 hours. Let’s understand this by an example so for an instance if a standard business day is from 8.00 AM to 4.30 PM then we can consider first half from 8.00 AM to 12.00 PM)  call/tasks details with other parameter such as monthly or quarterly. This recipe will teach you to work with a report range.

Getting ready

For this recipe, all you need is an active Service-Now instance, valid credentials, and a role (admin or report admin).

How to do it...

  1. Open a web browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer).
  2. Type the instance web address in the address bar.
  3. Log in to the Service-Now instance using the credentials.
  4. In left-hand search box, type reports and click on Report Ranges module under Administration section of report...
