By enabling the receiving e-mail feature, Salesforce will deliver an e-mail to your inbox every time someone follows you or posts on your profile or groups. You can also receive daily or weekly user and group e-mail digests. Personal digests include updates that you see in your own Chatter feed, such as updates about people, posts linked to your profile, a personal mention in a post or comment, a comment or item that you liked, records, files you followed, and information about your groups.
