Summary


In this chapter, we covered the full-text search capabilities of Alfresco using an open source based, highly scalable, and a fast search engine called Lucene. You also learned about how the content as well as content properties are indexed in search engine automatically. We also covered the usage of the Advance Search form to create complex search criteria to search content and save the searches as a re-usable report. We also learned about the extending the advance search form to include custom content types and properties, and also learned how to configure and use an external search engine, such as Solr, provided by Alfresco.

In next chapter, you will learn about the various imaging and form processing implementation in Alfresco. The next chapter will also provide you more detail about the various scanning and OCR technologies integration with Alfresco.
