As you work to create the assignments from your course syllabus, you may want to organize the assignments into assignment groups. You can create new assignment groups, adjust their weighted percentage, and add specific grading rules for each assignment group. To create an assignment group, perform the following steps:
Click on the Assignments tab on the left-side menu of your course, then click on the + Group button at the top-right corner of the assignments page.
In the pop-up window that appears, you can type in Group Name for the new assignment group. You will also see the option to adjust % of total grade, but you will not be able to adjust this option until you change the assignment weight settings for your course, which we will discuss in the next section, Weighting assignment groups.
After you have entered Group Name, click on the Save button.
