Using search engine friendly URLs for your products


Perhaps one of the easiest and yet most overlooked way to improve your website for search engines is to provide search engine friendly URLs (web addresses) for your product pages. Luckily, Drupal Commerce makes this easy for you to do!

Getting started

Log in to your Drupal Commerce store's administration panel.

How to do it...

Once you have logged in as an administrator, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Site settings | Configuration.

  2. Select the Clean URLs option from the SEARCH AND METADATA box:

  3. Ensure that the Enable clean URLs field is checked:

  4. Finally, click on the Save configuration button to save the setting.

    Tip

    For more help enabling search engine friendly URLs for your Drupal Commerce site (especially if you're having problems on a shared server), see http://drupal.org/getting-started/clean-urls.

  5. Now that clean URLs are enabled in your Drupal Commerce store, you can add and edit your products and give them clean web addresses.
