Setting up Piwik for Joomla!


Before you follow this recipe you should have completed the previous recipe Installing Piwik analytics. Piwik analytics tracks as many websites as you like. This recipe simply enables it on a specific Joomla! website. Repeat this recipe for every site you wish to track.

Getting ready

Visit http://www.nfrtest.de/en/downloads-en/category/1-plugins. Choose the appropriate download for your version of Joomla!. This guide, like most in this book is using Joomla! 2.5.x, so we download the file nfrpiwik251.zip. Keep it on your desktop and get started.

How to do it...

Setting up Piwik for Joomla! was nice and quick. now we can start gathering data in our Piwik database.

  1. Log in to your Joomla! control panel and select Extensions | Extension Manager. Find the area with the label Upload package file as shown in the following screenshot:

  2. Click on Browse and find the nfrpiwik251.zip file on your desktop. Select it and then click on Upload and install.
