Customizing the font family for beautiful responsive titles

Fonts allow you to create a more engaging site for your users, and consistently maintain the theme style without having to produce a lot of heading images, one for each title.

Tip

It is important to choose the font carefully because it may influence the content assimilation by the user or may not contribute to show more than a page or two of our work.

@font-face is a CSS rule that allows designers to use non-standard web fonts that are not installed in their users' machines and helps a lot to change all headings faster. The great benefit of the @font-face method is that it does not replace your regular fonts with images and also gives the required flexibility to the responsive web design.

Tip

@font-face only supports IE8 or earlier if we are using EOT fonts. Also, Safari iOS 4.1 and lower only support SVG font. We will see in the next topic how to provide this support easily.
