Up to now, we've worked with Protostar, the default template in Joomla. However, there are a few extra templates available in the Joomla package. To see an overview, navigate to Extensions | Template Manager and click on the Templates link in the menu on the left-hand side to go to the Templates Manager: Templates screen:
Here all available templates are displayed with thumbnail images, giving a quick impression of the page design. In the Location column you can see if it's a frontend or a backend template. Joomla comes with two frontend templates (Location: Site) and two templates that can be used in the backend (Location: Administrator).
