Chapter 10. Upgrade

Alfresco releases new versions for new features, enhancements, and improvements to the system. From time to time, it is necessary to upgrade to the latest version of Alfresco. Upgrading is a process that involves moving all the data stored in the X version of Alfresco to an updated Y version of Alfresco. It is always recommended to move to the latest release; there are different paths for upgrading, which we will cover in detail in this chapter.

We will cover the following topics in this chapter:

  • The importance of choosing the correct path for the upgrade
