Preparing a story

By now, you probably know how to prepare a new story, but you need to be aware of your options. As someone who tends to start from the ground up with my development, New Project is usually the selection I make. However, depending on how you prefer to author e-learning, it might be easier to import from a previously built project or template. This comes in handy if you prefer authoring in PowerPoint or if someone else is developing the branding guidelines and/or templates for your project. The point is that you have options, and they are as follows:

  • New Project: Create your story by starting afresh, with a blank canvas

  • Record Screen: Record screen content to integrate into a new story

  • Import: This option allows you to import content previously developed in the following softwares:

    • Microsoft PowerPoint

    • Articulate Quizmaker

    • Articulate Engage

    • Articulate Storyline

    • You are also able to import questions from text files or Microsoft Excel
