Chapter 7. Custom Libraries

In this chapter, we are going to cover how to create independent modules or plugins that can be used in a variety of ways such as a Node.js module, which will contain methods for creating a RESTful API server.

For the server side, we require a CommonJS module that will be used to handle the data store access, and then a jQuery plugin that will handle the client-side logic of performing CRUD operations via RESTful HTTP Ajax requests. We will write tests for these modules and use Bower and npm to publish them to the cloud for the npm community to consume.
