Chapter 3. Submitting Forms
In this chapter, we'll expand on the foundations we started building on in Chapter 2, Recording Your First Test, and we will dive deeper into the details of submitting forms. While most of the forms you encounter while recording test plans might be simple in nature, some are a completely different beast and require careful attention. For example, more and more websites are embracing RESTful web services, and as such, you would mainly interact with JSON objects when recording or executing test plans for such applications. Another area of interest will be recording applications that make heavy use of AJAX to accomplish business functionality. Google, for one, is known to be a mastermind at this. Most of their products, including Search, Gmail, Maps, YouTube, and so on, all use AJAX extensively.
