Achieving time-based automated publishing


Sometimes, we need to change the web page contents frequently and publish them on or at a later specific date and time. In the daily routine, it gets very critical and time-consuming to achieve this as it requires a lot of manual work to remember at what time what content should be changed and published accurately.

This recipe will cover how we can automatically publish content based on time. It will also give us the freedom of remembering publishing items and doing the publishing in and out of office hours as well as weekends; in short, no manual publishing at all!

How to do it…

  1. Create multiple versions of an item with different content, as shown in the following image:

  2. Select this item from the Content Editor; in the ribbon, click on the Change button in the Restriction group from the Publish menu.
