This chapter will introduce Oracle API Manager, which is a key product in Oracle's API Management solution. This product is brand new (released in Q1 2015) and was first released as part of the 12c stack. The concerns addressed by this product, such as the API portal, community management and API keys management are fundamental to an organization's API strategy.
The following sections will detail the product's capabilities and explain how it is intended to fit into established Service Oriented Architecture. We will extend the use case presented in previous chapters to demonstrate API Manager's functionality.
