Toggling visibility of password fields with custom jQuery code

In Bootstrap 3, a very popular plugin for showing passwords, called Show Password plugin, is available. However, it has not been updated for some time, and since it is a relatively complex plugin, it would be a bit out of the scope of this recipe to alter the plugin to be used in Bootstrap 4. That is why we will build a custom jQuery functionality in this recipe to use with our Bootstrap 4 input add-on buttons. Specifically, this recipe deals with the input element that has the type attribute of the password.
