In the chapter, you could see that we could easily reuse the SCSS from Chapter 3, Customizing Your Blog with Bootstrap and Sass, by using a WordPress Bootstrap theme which turns WordPress' HTML code into standard Bootstrap code. Both the SCSS code and the JBST theme use and reuse Bootstrap's predefined CSS classes whenever possible. This strategy enables us to write clear code which can be easily reused.
In this chapter, we've built a custom WordPress theme with Bootstrap. Because we began with the excellent JBST 4 theme as our starter theme, we did not have to build from scratch. We asserted control over the markup structure by customizing the template files and created some custom template files. After that we styled buttons and comments using Bootstrap's styles.
And finally we integrated Bootstrap's carousel component to create an image slider on our front page and build an off-canvas menu and masonry grid layout for the theme.
