The growth mindset

Carol Dweck, author of the book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success and a researcher from Stanford University, has devoted her time to researching why some people seem to thrive when solving complex problems.

She discovered that people with a growth mindset "believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work; brains and talent are just a starting point."

When we develop a growth mindset, instead of trying to control our environment to suit our abilities, we're more likely to explore it and try to overcome the challenges it presents.
