JavaMail is part of the Java enterprise edition since its birth. It's a very simple framework, and it can be used not only inside an application server but in many contexts. Remember that if you work in a Java EE compliant application server as WildFly, you should always use the tools that it provides you with, for example, the mail session. It is considered bad programming to rewrite the existing or available services or components. In the subsequent chapters, we will continue talking about the asynchronous shifting to the REST services. Each architecture described in Java EE 7 has its asynchronous side.
