React VR makes it easy to do VR without having to know three.js. The three.js is the wrapper class that helps implement WebGL, which itself is a form of the native OpenGL rendering library.
React VR is fairly inclusive, but like all APIs, it can't do everything. Fortunately, React VR anticipated this; if React VR doesn't support a feature and you need it, you can build that feature yourself.
In this chapter, you will cover the following topics:
- Using three.js from inside React VR code
- The basic three.js procedural code
- Setting up three.js to interact with our React VR components
- Using three.js to do things visually that are lower level with three.js
