Chapter 6. Designing Behavior

In this chapter, we will explain what drives users to behave in a certain way or take certain actions. Besides the BJ Fogg model, which we explained earlier, we will cover a few other behavior models that are worth knowing and understanding in the UX world.

After this, we will move on to explain the five factors for users to take action.

We already know that designing for a behavioral change is really hard, which is why we will go through what kind of behavioral approach we need to take when we designing our product.

So, we will focus on the following areas in this chapter:

  • What and how to design for a behavior change
  • Behavioral design models
  • The five factors for users to take action
  • What behavioral approach should we take during our product design
