In this chapter, you were able to put everything that you have learned so far into practice in a meaningful way by creating the skeleton of the application we will use in this book. With that in place, we are now ready to start implementing the business logic and evolve the application.
You also gained an understanding of how to set up the Express.js server for your API, how to organize your files in a proper way, how to create your first route, and how to create controllers for your routes.
In the next chapter, we will walk you though enriching this base application by putting other routes in place. We will also explain how you can handle requests and responses.
