React Design Patterns and Best Practices - Fifth Edition

Testing is the invisible foundation that holds your React applications together. While users never see your tests, they experience their benefits every time a feature works correctly and every time a bug is caught before deployment.
This reliability comes at a cost. Writing tests takes time that could otherwise be spent building features. Tests require maintenance as your application evolves, change a component's behavior and you'll update its tests too. A comprehensive test suite can significantly slow your CI pipeline: unit tests run in milliseconds, but end-to-end tests that spin up browsers and interact with real services can take minutes. Across a large application, a full test run might take 20-30 minutes, blocking deployments and slowing feedback loops. Flaky tests, those that pass and fail intermittently, erode trust in your test suite and waste developer time investigating false failures.
The goal isn't to test everything...
