Summary

We learned a lot in this chapter about how we can be more social in Mahara by using the groups and friends features. Specifically, we looked at: creating groups, group types, forums and discussions, group views and files, and making friends.

We also discussed how we might use Mahara to encourage social interaction in our organization through sharing and discussion represented by our three fictional case study characters. Hopefully, now you have a good idea of how you can use the social facilities of Mahara to get people connecting and sharing ideas.

In the next chapter, we will be looking at how we can tailor our Mahara Portfolio using site settings and how to move our Portfolio around using the Mahara import/export facility.
