Moving the newsletter subscribe block to the right column


By default, Magento places the newsletter subscribe block in one of the columns. However, if you choose a layout that does not show that column, then you will lose the newsletter block. If that's the case, then consider moving it to the opposite column.

You will get a warning message: "You are about to customize the default theme". Your store's layout, terminology, color scheme, typestyles, and images are controlled by its theme. Creating an entirely new theme for your site is beyond the scope of this book. Covering that requires an entire book by itself, such as theMagento Designer's Guidefrom Packt.

Usually, when you customize your store's appearance, you want to create or install a new theme and customize that new theme. You leave the default Magento theme alone.
