Magento has tools that enable you to communicate with your customers. InChapter 6, we looked at tools that you could use to speak to your customers. In this chapter, you will learn about some tools that enable your customers to speak with you and others:

  • Reviews

  • Ratings

  • Tags

  • E-mail to a friend

Customer reviews

In Magento, you can give your customers the ability to review a product. Other shoppers can see the review and also post their own reviews. By default, Magento requires all reviews to be approved by the store administrator. Reviews do not appear until you review and approve them.

Now let's have a look at reviews from the customer's point of view. When a shopper views a product that has not been reviewed, he/she sees a link on the product page inviting the customer to review the product:
