Introducing the Animation Utility


The Animation Utility provides a quick and easy solution to add a variety of animations to elements on your pages. You can specify that elements should grow, shrink, or even scroll across the page, and you have complete control over how and when these animations should occur. Almost any property of an element with a numerical value, such as width or height for example, can be animated.

The class structure of the Animation Utility

YAHOO.util.Anim is the base class that provides most of the basic properties and methods that are used to create animations. It features a constructor which is used to create an instance of the animation object, a series of methods which allow you to control the animation, and a set of custom events which are fired at different moments during the animation.
