Moodle as a Curriculum and Information Management System
Information about how users are interacting with an educational program can provide insight into how well the program is serving the needs of its students. Monitoring things such as, but not limited to, student interaction, attendance, and assessed performance will help educators and educational administrators to make decisions about the curriculum and its execution. The ability, for example, to determine how many times a student interacts with the Moodle site, may provide insight into the student's level of motivation and interest. Additionally, the ability to monitor a student's performance as determined by assessment systems, automated or teacher-generated, may enable educational administrators to better assist students in need of guidance and to adjust the curriculum to meet the needs of those who would benefit from more academic challenges.
