Time for action – uploading a PDF file

You can also use the document library portlet to upload a PDF file. Try uploading an arbitration notice PDF file using the following steps:

  1. Remain in the NeibourDoc folder and click on Add Document again.

  2. Browse the local file system and find an arbitration_results.pdf file. Click on Open.

  3. Click on Upload Files. Click on << Back, and the arbitration_results.pdf file is uploaded successfully.

  4. Click on the arbitration_results.pdf file name.

  5. Find a URL input box and copy the value in it.

  6. Click on << Back to NeibourDoc.

You return to the NeibourDoc folder where two uploaded files are shown.

What just happened?

By default, a user with proper permissions can upload files with any kind of file extension with the document library portlet. However, the file extensions can be restricted through configuration in the portal-ext.properties file.

The URL field value that you just copied is like this: http://neiborhood.cignex.com/documents/10157/529b95af-5d6d-41a9...
