We learned a lot in this chapter about content creation and publishing in Liferay Portal. Specifically, we covered:
Using the image gallery portlet to upload and manage image files
Creating regular content and content based on a template using the web content portlet
Configuring the web content display portlet to show web content on a portal page
Uploading and managing all kinds of files through the document library portlet
Integrating files uploaded through the document library portlet with the web content display portlet
Monitoring online content through the asset publisher portlet
Converting web content into a PDF file using OpenOffice service
We also discussed content versioning, adding comments to content, and rating content.
Now that we have learned about content creation and publishing with pre-installed portlets, we are ready to populate portal pages with custom portlets, which is the topic of the next chapter.
