As I already mentioned in the previous chapter, MDM allows you to restrict access to the MDM servers as well as the MDM repositories by setting secure passwords.

Password protecting the MDM servers

By default, the MDM servers are not password-protected. This means that anyone can perform the MDM server-level Console functions such as starting the MDM server, stopping the MDM server, creating the repository, and so on. The list of these privileged server-level Console functions is provided in Chapter 9, MDM System Administration. In order to restrict access to these server functions in the MDM Console, you must set a valid password for the MDM server. To set the server password in the MDM Console, select the target MDM server in the hierarchy pane and choose MDM Servers | Change Password from the main menu.
