We have talked about protecting the MDM server and the repository using the users, roles, and authentication concepts. Then we discussed about the network-based SSL security support available from MDM 7.1 SP07 onwards. After that the segregation of duties support in MDM was briefly discussed under the Authorization concepts and management section. This was followed by audit logs created in MDM for the purpose of auditing. We touched upon the concept of Content security and finally discussed the various directories created on the MDM server and their recommended access permissions.

In the next chapter, we discuss about the integration scenarios of SAP MDM with various SAP offerings such as SAP Business Intelligence (BI), SAP Enterprise Portal, and SAP Process Integration (PI).
