Using the MDIS


The MDIS offers scalability and automation for importing data into MDM. The MDIS and the MDM server work in tandem to automatically import data into existing MDM repositories without any user intervention.

We list the pre-requisite checklist before using the MDIS:

  • Check if the backend DBMS server is up and running

  • Ensure both the MDIS and the MDM server instances are running

  • Mount and load the target MDM repositories into which data has to be imported

  • Create and save the import map for the appropriate Remote System's source files using Import Manager

  • With the help of the MDM Console create and configure the inbound port on the target MDM repository for automatic import

  • Manually edit the mdis.ini file to provide Login and Password credentials to be used by the MDIS while connecting to the target MDM repository

Usually the mdis.ini file resides in the following path: <Installation Drive:>\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\MDIS<Instance No>\config
