Frequently encountered problems while importing data into MDM are discussed in this section.
If the source files aren't being imported into MDM, it might be because of any of the following:
Cause |
Solution |
---|---|
Server or repository status |
Check if both the MDS and MDIS are started and if the repository is loaded. |
Port problems |
Check the Ports detail pane in the Console and verify if the port type is inbound, if the port's Processing Type is Automatic, if the port's status is empty. If the port status is blocked it implies that the MDIS attempted to import a file which is blocked due to a structural exception. |
MDIS configuration errors |
The MDIS must be able to connect to an MDM repository in order to send imported records to it. Check if the user credentials that the MDIS uses to connect to the repository is valid. There will be an "invalid logon credentials" error in the MDIS log. |
