With the goal of helping developers from all platforms build complex, high-performance client apps for the modern Web, Google's Dart (https://code.google.com/p/dart/) is another great example of pushing web development, more specifically JavaScript development, to the limit. Just like Haxe, Dart is an open-source project that uses its own specific programming language to compile into Web-ready JavaScript documents and just like Jangaroo, Dart was built out of the frustrations with the limits of the current web development platforms.
