Configuring shipping by country, zone, or continent


In this recipe you will be able to assign a cost to a specific country. VirtueMart will automatically detect the country the customer wants the order delivered to and apply the appropriate charge.

Getting ready

Work out how much you want to charge for delivery and to which countries. The following table gives us the details as to what we will be configuring in the recipe but it would be trivial to change the countries and costs to suit us:

How to do it...

The recipe works by defining costs either individually to a single country or to groups of countries. First up we will assign a single country and configure the cost.

In our example this is the UK, but it would work just as well for any country. It is quite a common configuration to have a low shipping cost for customers in the same country as the store:
