When you are developing a new cronjob, it is not so easy to test it. You will not wait until the cron will be executed because you will lose a lot of time to do it.
On Magento Connect, there is a module that makes the testing of a cronjob easy. This module allows you to run a cronjob from the backend or command line.
It also adds a view to the backend that is a graphical representation of the cron_schedule
table.
We will install a module from Magento Connect on our Magento installation. More information of the module can be found at: http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/aoe-scheduler.html.
The following steps describe the workflow of the module to test cronjobs:
Install the module by getting the extension key from Magento Connect. Be sure to take the key for Magento Connect 2.0 as shown in the following screenshot:
