Time for action – customizing the background color using CSS


Customizing the CSS codes of the template can be relatively easy, especially when it comes to changing properties such as colors, font types, and images. You can edit the template stylesheets from within the Joomla backend. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to Extensions | Template Manager. In the menu on the left-hand side, click on Templates.

  2. Now click the link of the template you want to edit. In this example, click Ice_future Details and Files:

  3. On the right-hand side of the screen, you'll notice a section called Stylesheets. Click the name of the stylesheet, css/template.css. This will open the source code of the stylesheet in an editor screen.

  4. In the editor screen, locate the body style declaration. It should look like this:

    body {
      background:#e5e5e5;
      line-height:26px;}
  5. Change the highlighted line as follows:

      background:#ffffff;

    This will change the background color of the site to white (the color code for white is #ffffff).
