Showing a rating widget on a form

Modern web applications provide a set of star icons for users to click on, providing a "rating" of a given item. It is simple to include these types of UI components in concrete5 applications using the Rating helper.

How to do it...

  1. Create a single page at /single_pages/example_form.php if it does not exist.

  2. Install the single page by visiting /dashboard/pages/single and entering example_form as the page location.

  3. Load the Rating form helper:

    $rh = Loader::helper('form/rating');
  4. Output the rating widget:

    <form>
       <?php echo $rh->rating('rating', 60) ?>
    </form>

How it works...

The Rating helper makes use of a third-party jQuery plugin to provide an interactive rating chooser. The helper will take care of generating all HTML and JavaScript required to use this widget.

The output function requires two parameters: the name of the input and the initial value (an integer that is either 20, 40, 60, 80, or 100).

If you'd like to just simply...
