Using the banned words list

concrete5 comes bundled with a list of profane and inappropriate English words that site owners can use to remove inappropriate content from their website. In this example, we will check a word to see if it is in the banned words list.

How to do it...

Load the banned words helper:

$bannedWords = Loader::helper('validation/banned_words');

Check a word to see if it is in the banned words list:
```
$isBanned = $bannedWords->isBannedWord('friendly');
```
If the word is in the banned words list, then $isBanned will be equal to true:
```
var_dump($isBanned);
exit;
```

How it works...

concrete5 checks the list of banned words (stored at /concrete/config/banned_words.txt) to see if it contains the word provided in the parameter.

Site owners can customize and edit the banned words list by copying it to /config/banned_words.txt and adding or removing entries there.
