In this chapter, we have gone through various aspects of distributed search. We started with understanding the needs behind distributed search, and how Apache Solr can enable your enterprise search with the distributed options that are available. We also looked at different approaches that enable you to run Solr in a distributed manner. We then focused on understanding the capabilities of Apache Zookeeper and SolrCloud. We studied the SolrCloud architecture and how to build an enterprise-distributed search system out of Apache Solr.
