In the past you likely required your students to purchase a physical textbook, a course reader, and, in some cases, an eBook. However, the textbook for your edX course must be made available for free in an electronic format. You have three options when it comes to the textbook for your edX course:
Provide a free digital textbook: You will need to work with the publisher to license and create a free digital copy of the textbook. Due to the complex nature of this process, you should start it with your program manager as soon as possible.
Use freely available textbooks: There is an impressive selection of digital books, peer-reviewed articles, educational media, and instructional material available at no cost from learning object repositories. Options include:
