Building a custom form to bind product details using SPEAK


We achieved the listing, searching, and filtering of products without writing a single line of code using the SPEAK framework. In this recipe, we will create a form page to edit the selected product's details.

Getting ready

In the previous recipes, we created ListControl to render the product list, where we created a hyperlink in the Product column, as shown in the following image. So, clicking on it, we will now open a new form page to display and edit product details:

How to do it…

We will first create a custom form using the SPEAK application:

  1. Using Sitecore Rocks in the core database, create a /sitecore/client/Business Component Library/version 1/Templates/Branches/Applications/ TaskPage item—AddEditProduct—in the /sitecore/client/Your Apps/Cookbook item.
