Now that you've got your site set up, you'll need to test it and see how it will work for your users. This means adding some test data so that there are some dummy users, groups, and connections.
The great news is that you don't have to manually add test data; there are plugins to do it for you. The BuddyPress Default Data plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-default-data/) provides you with a set of data that you can use to test every part of your BuddyPress site. Follow these steps:
To install the plugin, go to Plugins | Add New.
Type
BuddyPress
Default Data in the Search Plugins box and hit Enter. You will see a list of plugins that match the search terms. Find the BuddyPress Default Data plugin and click on the Install Now button for it. Click on OK when prompted to confirm that you want to install the plugin.
On the plugin installation screen, click on the Activate link.
Go to Tools | BP Default Data to see the plugin's screen.
