In this chapter, we built a real web part using the SharePoint Framework. This went beyond a simple Hello World web part like we made earlier and actually walked you through the steps in provisioning the necessary data structures, and building the user interface for the solution. We also had a look at some additional ideas for building smarter controls for the web part, including a model for not showing a Send button unless there's a value in a text field, by using a JavaScript-based approach in the web part.
In the next chapter, we'll learn how to use Visual Studio Code more productively when working with the SharePoint Framework projects.
