JSONLD stands for JSON with linked data structure. First of all, let's understand what a linked data structure is. Say we are writing a new blog on block chains. While doing so, we would need to provide some metadata to our web crawler, assuming they are Google crawlers. The crawlers can parse our html and read the content of our blog. Now, this type of crawling is done by machine-reading methods rather than manually. Such input metadata may consist of some information that is linked with the next or previous blog post, or may be linked to the person who posted the blog. JSONLD provides a way to accomplish both. It works as a metadata for crawler as well as giving an idea about the links to other sets of data.
The Google search engine uses the crawled data to provide the best search results when someone searches for block chains.
JSONLD is used to connect data on the web. Let's understand the structure of JSONLD and its working with respect to linked data.
