Debugging with the standalone tool

If you are working with other browsers such as Safari or Internet Explorer, or if you cannot use Chrome or Firefox for some reason, there's a standalone version of the tool, which you can find at https://github.com/facebook/react-devtools/tree/master/packages/react-devtools. Be warned, though, that for web development, you won't be getting the full functionality, so you'll probably be better off keeping to a supported browser!

Getting ready

We want to use the standalone tool; let's see how to set it up. To start with, obviously, we need to install the package. You can do it globally, but I prefer working locally within the project itself:
